After much ado, it is our pleasure to present the Spirit of Toronto 2024 Masterclass Series – a bespoke suite of tutored tastings in closed rooms on the lower level of Roy Thomson Hall. There are a limited number of spots available so don’t delay in booking if you’re looking to do a deep dive at this year’s show!

Whether you consider yourself a novice taster or a seasoned connoisseur, this is your opportunity to sample and learn more about rare and unique whiskies in a quiet and unhurried setting. These sessions may only be attended by those purchasing a ticket to the main showcase.

Note: Patrons attending Early Admission classes enjoy priority entry into the main hall at 6:30pm.

Spirit of Toronto is proud to have Dr. Don Livermore, master distiller at Hiram Walker, join us in the VIP Lounge to host the headline masterclass for our 20th anniversary with our beloved Regis Lemaitre acting as his emcee. As part of Wisers’ expanding fanbase, we look forward to having Dr. Don present an inaugural tasting of the J.P. Wiser’s Decade Series as well as a sneak preview of the third installment in the Lot 40 Rye Exploration Series. Dunville’s Irish Whiskey: Experience Excellence with Jarlath Watson — SOLD OUT

Born in 1808, the Dunville’s brand was once one of the most famous names in Irish Whiskey and it’s revival is courtesy of Jarlath and the team who established Echlinville, a field-to-glass estate distillery founded in Northern Ireland’s County Down in 2013. The myriad of awards and praise Dunville’s has earned are all well deserved as they set their sights on becoming Ireland’s answer to Macallan. Angel’s Envy: Traditions and Innovations in American Oak with Lucas Twyman — SOLD OUT

Calling all bourbon geeks! We’re excited to welcome Kentucky native and ‘Whiskey Guardian’ Lucas Twyman to his first Spirit of Toronto for a deep dive into all things Angel’s Envy including the effects of oak on spirits maturation, the use of American vs European oak, char levels and secondary maturation. However, the proof is in the taste, and to this end Lucas has assembled a mouthwatering lineup of whiskeys to engage guests and spark a frank and geeky discussion of the benefits and controversies of ‘cask finishing’ in American whiskey.
